Our customer was looking for a solution to provide access for maintenance and cleaning of starch transfer conveyors in their facility. C & C designed a custom catwalk and staircase to service that area.
The catwalk and staircase were made of stainless steel framing with aluminum decking to meet food grade quality standards. The parts were designed, fabricated and pre-assembled in our shop and delivered to the customer’s facility.
At the facility, the area was inaccessible with lifting equipment, which provided a challenge during install. Our crew used rigging to hold the catwalk in place, while building the supporting stainless steel frame. The installation took place over a weekend to minimize facility downtime.
