Osha Training can be a bit of a snooze fest. Though important it can be redundant and a lot of technical terms that, let’s face it, a lot of us don’t understand.

At C&C Engineering we make training as hands-on as possible to grasp the employees attention and to really make sure information sinks in. Here are some of the pros to conducting hands-on training.

Information Better Retained

Simply just reading from the OSHA Codes booklet or even a program created by your onsite safety coordinator; can lose the attention of your employees fast. So to spice it up and make it a bit more entertaining we start off with a training video. Asking pop questions throughout, to be sure employees are listening and really retaining information. This becomes competitive with employees and keeps them interested.

Accidents are Minimized

After the video portion of the training, employees grab their fall protection harnesses and are asked to put them on for inspection. This gives the safety coordinator time to check out any rips and tears so that certain harnesses can be taken out of service on the spot. This is also a way for safety to get a feel for who knows how to harness up correctly and who needs a refresher. Keeping workers more aware and better prepared out in the field minimizes safety hazards and all around life threatening accidents.

Employee Moral

Seeing teammates able to harness up correctly without too much struggle can boost trust. There’s nothing worse than being up 200 feet, suddenly needing another grinder and your team mate is unfamiliar with height; let alone the equipment. During C & C ‘s training we make sure equipment is in good condition and is familiar by all authorized personnel. This gives at height workers a way of putting their mind at ease. Knowing any number of their team members understand the proper way to use fall protection equipment; and can be called upon for help in any situation.

OSHA does not have an “exact set standard for procedures, as they can vary depending on company size and industry.”

Not all contents are included in this post C & C Engineering has many more included in our Training; these are only a few displayed specifically for the entertainment and pleasure of blog readers.

C & C Engineering does not sell safety training and is by no means soliciting professional training or safety advice.
